Volvo XC90 2.4D Sport (2002)
Great car in many ways better than my last car a BMW X5 3.0D but let down by small details associated with quality. Sport suspension great = no sick children on twisty roads. Fuel consumption of 6.1 l/100km achieved on long motorway journey at roughly 100 km/hr. Manual gearbox is very fluid and provides all the control to get the best from the 2.4D engine. Rear parking camera great but annoying slight problem appeared after 3 years which needs a software update and new hardware module. Handbrake is appallingly weak and subject to heavy rust leading to sudden failure. Seats could be more comfortable and seems to better adapted to small people. Turning circle distance is lorry like and in my opinion much too big.
