Upcoming Models / Morgan Supersport 400 (2026) - British tradition steps up a gear

Written by Laurent Blairon on April 23, 2026

With its new Supersport 400, the Malvern-based manufacturer has crossed a highly symbolic threshold: for the first time in its history, a production Morgan has surpassed 400 horsepower.

In a sports car landscape dominated by the electric arms race, Morgan continues to march to the beat of its own drum. Without any sudden breaks, but with the future firmly in sight, the evolution remains slow and controlled. The recent Supersport opened a new chapter. Here is the first evolution: the Supersport 400. To be precise, 402 hp. A common figure for many modern, electrified cars, but a significant milestone for Morgan.

Its power is not an end in itself

The approach remains true to the brand’s philosophy. The Supersport 400 was not conceived as a show of strength, but as a quest. It takes the CXV bonded aluminum platform a step further. The work of the engineers and craftsmen focuses on chassis precision, responsive handling, and the intensity of the rider-machine connection.

Under the hood, the latest version of BMW’s B58 inline-six engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, enables the Supersport 400 to reach 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. That’s even faster than the rare and impressive 375-horsepower Morgan Aeromax V8.

The human-machine interface

As is customary with Morgan, the focus isn’t on lap times, but on how the car communicates with the driver. To maximize the driving experience, the Supersport 400 comes standard with the Dynamic Handling package: 24-way adjustable Nitron shocks, a completely revised suspension setup, and specific tuning. The car doesn’t (yet?) reach the extreme levels of a pure sports car, but it hones its precision. The chassis becomes more predictable and responsive, while remaining comfortable for everyday driving.

A limited-slip differential is available as an option, while an active exhaust system lets the German six-cylinder engine sing. The 19-inch forged wheels, paired with Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires, contribute to the desired balance between precision and driving pleasure.

An Aesthetic of Continuity

Visually, the 400 stays true to the Supersport’s elegant lines. The updates are subtle, almost understated: redesigned air intakes, smoother surfaces, and refined finishing touches. The contrast between exposed aluminum and technical components is more pronounced, reinforcing that sense of “industrial precision” without overshadowing the craftsmanship.

The same approach is evident inside the cabin, where the atmosphere has become more sophisticated without sacrificing the car’s sporty character. Alcantara, leather, and metal accents: each material retains its essential tactile quality. The instrument cluster remains easy to read and is primarily analog, while incorporating modern technologies. The gear selector is now made of aluminum.

Craftsmanship as the finishing touch

Each Supersport 400 is hand-assembled in Malvern according to the wishes of its future owner. New satin finishes, expanded customization options, and bespoke details down to the finest nuances: as always—and now more than ever—a Morgan is a deeply personal creation.

The Supersport 400 is aimed at fans of the brand looking for a more premium model. With a starting price of €130,000 before tax, it certainly lives up to that reputation. The first deliveries are scheduled to begin in May.
